Support for MacOS ARM [closed]

0 votes

I'm getting the warnings that Skipper and other Intel-based apps will no longer be supported in future MacOS updates. I'm running Tahoe Version 26.5.2 (25F84) with an M1 Max. Is there a planned release for ARM support?

Thank you!

Yes, sir :-)

Just check the pinned post here on the support forum. We have already released a beta version with ARM support:

Please try it and let us know whether everything works as expected for you.

Thanks for the quick reply! I loaded the Skipper for MacOS 15.7+ 64-bit.dmg (Mac OS DMG package) and no more warning. Just curious, is the Windows 64 beta also ARM compliant?

Thanks for keeping Skipper maintained. It would be hard to live without it. :)

The Windows 64-bit beta is not ARM-compatible. To be honest, we have never received such a request, and we have not yet tried compiling it for Windows on ARM. I was not even aware that Windows ARM devices were being used for this kind of work :-)

However, if you are interested and can help us with testing, we can give it a try and see if we can make it work.
